I Am Learning To Steer My Ship

I Am Learning To Steer My Ship

Emily Dickinson said, “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning to steer my ship.” With a sturdy and hopeful heart we can weather the lashing winds of the world. This is what has inspired this bold and vibrant painting.

This is a painting on traditional-depth cradled board - about 1/2 an inch deep. I’ve created this using black, paynes gray, ultramarine blue and fluorescent yellow and orange acrylic paints. I’ve carefully coated the painting with a UV-protective coating which has been proven to protect the fluorescent pigment. The sides of the wood support have been painted black.

This artwork has been wired and is ready to hang.
