Paintings on Paper: An Affordable Way to Start Your Art Collection

I have a serious paper addiction.

I love journals, writing paper, squishy ink pens. My collection of notebooks, journals and beautiful paper products is embarrassing. And I want more.

Paintings on paper are a wonderful combination of a love of papers and a passion for art. Also, they are much more affordable than art on canvas. This makes them a fantastic way to start your art collection or to just try out a new artist.

When I see the work of an artist that catches my eye online, I am sometimes wary of spending a huge amount of money on a large canvas right away. A painting on paper is a great way to try out the artist before moving on to getting the larger more heavy duty works.

Make sure the paper is good quality and find out how the work will be packed. Sometimes artists will ship the work in a tube and other times it will be flat packed. Larger works tend to be safer being shipped in a tube.
